  1. Go to the bottom right corner of DaVinci Resolve and click the gear icon to open Project Settings.
  2. Select the Image Scaling tab on the left.
  3. Locate the Input Scaling section at the top.
  4. Click the dropdown menu for Mismatched resolution files.
  5. Change it from "Center crop with no resizing" to Scale entire image to fit.
  6. Click Save. DaVinci Resolve will instantly shrink every single 4K clip in your project down to perfectly fit within the 1080p timeline window without cropping.
