Effective Date: October 27, 2026
This policy explains how fair use applies to the unlimited storage included with the Cutsio Enterprise plan. It is part of the Enterprise plan terms. Where a signed order form or master agreement sets different terms, that agreement controls.
Enterprise includes unlimited storage hours. We do not bill by the storage hour and we do not charge storage overages, so ordinary production use never produces a surprise storage invoice. "Unlimited" is not a promise of infinite capacity for any business model; it is a commitment that normal production libraries fit comfortably, subject to the fair use rules below.
Storage is measured in footage hours (duration), not gigabytes. A 10-minute ProRes 4444 file and a 10-minute H.264 file of the same runtime count the same. Active storage means footage in your library that is available for playback, search, and review. Long-term retention can move to archive storage, which is billed separately at $15 per TB per month.
Fair use covers a normal production library for one team: the working set of footage you upload, search, review, and deliver from. It is sized for real productions, not for hosting someone else's archive.
We do not publish a fixed hour cap. Active storage is measured exactly as it is on every plan — footage hours, not gigabytes — and camera-original ARRI RAW, RED RAW, and ProRes backups are licensed and stored separately through the production add-ons. If your library grows well beyond a normal team's working set, we contact you early to agree capacity rather than waiting for a problem.
Enterprise is a production library, not a storage or hosting service. The following fall outside fair use:
If your active library grows beyond ordinary production use, we work with you on a capacity plan: additional archive storage, a custom Enterprise agreement, or a volume arrangement. We do not delete footage without notice. In most cases a conversation is enough; teams that genuinely run larger libraries move to terms built for that volume.
We review fair use in aggregate, in good faith, and against the rules above — not to police what you shoot. If usage is clearly outside this policy, we may ask you to reduce it, move data to archive storage, or move onto metered or custom terms. Except where usage threatens the security or stability of the service, we give notice and a reasonable period to respond before any technical limit is applied.
We may update this policy as the product changes. Material changes are posted here with a new effective date.
If you are unsure how this policy applies to your workflow — very high-bitrate masters, long-term archives, or shared production partners — contact us at [email protected] before you move a large library. We would rather plan it with you than enforce a limit later.
