## What are the function keys on the DaVinci Resolve Speed Editor?

The Speed Editor's function key section includes only the controls needed for editing, eliminating the full QWERTY keyboard for a smaller, more portable design. Some keys have dual functions — press and hold or double press for a secondary function. The keys are grouped so you can find them by feel and operate faster than a regular keyboard.

## How does Escape and Undo work on the Speed Editor?

The Escape key is positioned at the top left for easy location. It reverses functions — for example, if you select a camera in the Sync Bin, pressing Escape returns you to the multiview. Double press Escape to trigger Undo.

## How does Sync Bin work on the Speed Editor?

The Sync Bin key activates a new style of multi-cam editing. It finds shots that are synced to the current timeline position and displays them in a multiview interface. Use the camera number keys to select an alternative angle, then use Source Overwrite to edit it into the timeline.

## How do Audio Level and Markers work on the Speed Editor?

Hold the Audio Level key and adjust the level using the search dial — a fast way to set clip audio levels while editing. Double press the key to add a marker at the current position. Double press and hold to set the marker color.

## How does Full Screen Viewer work on the Speed Editor?

The Full Screen button is highlighted red for quick identification. Press it to switch to a full screen view of your viewer — ideal for presenting edits to clients. Double press the button to go into full screen and play from just before your most recent edit.

## How do Split and Move work on the Speed Editor?

Press the Split key to instantly cut the clip in the timeline at the current playback point. If the playhead is already positioned on a split, pressing Split removes it. Press and hold Split, then use the search dial to move the current clip up and down the timeline.

## How do Snap and Viewer Size work on the Speed Editor?

Press Snap to enable snapping in the timeline. Speed Editor snapping is different from magnetic snapping — it is non-magnetic and more subtle. It works by momentarily pausing jog at edit points for a smoother editing experience. Press and hold Snap, then use the search dial to adjust the viewer size.

## How does Ripple Delete work on the Speed Editor?

Ripple Delete removes the current clip at the playback point and ripples the timeline to fill the space left by the deleted clip. It eliminates blank spaces and reduces timeline duration automatically. Combine it with Split to remove specific parts of shots you don not want.

## Live trimming trim modes on the Speed Editor

The Speed Editor's search dial provides six trim modes. Press a trim button and rotate the dial. **Trim In** adjusts the in point of the clip to the right. **Trim Out** adjusts the out point of the clip to the left. **Roll** adjusts the transition point without changing timeline duration. **Slip Source** slides the clip to the left within its in/out range. **Slip Destination** slides the clip to the right. **Transition Duration** adjusts the length of an effect on the edit point.

The six trim modes come with individual on-screen indicators. **Trim In** adjusts the in point of the clip to the right of the highlighted transition. **Trim Out** adjusts the out point of the clip to the left. **Roll** adjusts the transition point without changing timeline duration — double pressing changes its function to Slide. **Slip Source** slides the clip to the left within its in/out range. **Slip Destination** slides the clip to the right. **Transition Duration** adjusts the length of an effect on the edit point — double pressing sets the default duration.
