## How do you edit waveforms at the sample level in DaVinci Resolve Fairlight?

Zoom in on an audio clip in the Fairlight timeline until you see individual audio samples. The closer you zoom, the easier it is to spot clicks, pops, or other problems. Once zoomed to the sample level, the pointer becomes a pencil tool. Click and drag to redraw the waveform, removing unwanted sounds. Changes update in real time when you zoom out.

The Fairlight audio timeline combines clip editing and waveform editing in a single view, so you never need to switch to a separate window for sample-level audio repair. Use the scroll wheel to zoom in progressively — the waveform gets larger until individual sample values become visible and editable.

## How do you remove clicks and pops using the pencil tool in Fairlight?

Identify a click or pop in the waveform — it appears as an abrupt spike or discontinuity in the sample pattern. Zoom in until you can see the individual samples at the problem area. Click and drag the pencil tool to redraw the waveform smoothly through the affected samples, connecting the surrounding waveform naturally.

For best results, redraw only the minimum number of samples needed to remove the artifact. Drawing too broadly can alter the natural sound. The pencil tool replaces the sample values with your drawn line, so a small, smooth curve over a 2-5 sample range usually removes the click without audible quality loss.

## Can you edit waveforms on multiple tracks simultaneously?

Fairlight displays waveforms for all visible tracks. To repair the same click across multiple tracks — useful for multi-microphone recordings — zoom in on the problem area across all tracks and edit each track's waveform independently. Locked tracks are protected from accidental edits.
