## What is the DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard?

The DaVinci Resolve Editor Keyboard is a full-sized traditional QWERTY editor keyboard in a premium metal design. It features a machined metal search dial with a clutch mechanism, plus extra keys for editing, trimming, and timecode entry. The keyboard can be installed inset for flush mounting in editing consoles and broadcast furniture.

## How does the search dial clutch work on the Editor Keyboard?

The search dial on the Editor Keyboard includes a clutch mechanism — press down on the dial to engage or disengage it from the timeline. This prevents accidental timeline movement when you bump the dial. When engaged, the dial provides weighted, precise control for scrolling, trimming, and parameter adjustment.

The clutch is a professional feature not found on consumer-grade controllers. It allows you to leave your hand on the dial while editing, engaging it only when you need timeline control.

## What extra keys does the Editor Keyboard include?

Beyond the standard QWERTY layout, the Editor Keyboard adds dedicated keys for editing functions. Timecode keys let you enter exact timecode values for precise navigation to specific frames. Dedicated trim keys provide direct access to ripple, roll, slip, and slide trimming. Source Tape, Sync Bin, and camera selection keys are also included.

The full-sized metal design is built for constant professional use. The keyboard can be installed inset into a desk or console for a flush-mounted appearance, common in broadcast and post-production facilities.

## Which keyboard should you choose?

Choose the Speed Editor for maximum portability and a compact, edit-focused layout with Bluetooth wireless. Choose the Editor Keyboard for a full desktop workstation where you need QWERTY typing alongside hardware editing controls. Choose the Replay Editor if live multi-camera switching is your primary workflow.
