## How do you use Resolve FX plugins on the Color page in DaVinci Resolve?

Open the Open FX library at the top right of the Color page. Over 90 GPU and CPU accelerated Resolve FX plugins are organized by category — blurs, color effects, glows and lens flares, vignettes, refinement and beauty tools, image restoration, sharpening, stylize, texture, transformation, and warpers. Drag any effect onto a node in the node tree. The library switches to the inspector showing the plugin's settings. Adjust and keyframe parameters just like on the Edit page.

Resolve FX plugins process within the node tree. Each plugin operates on the image data at its position in the node chain. Apply a glow before the grade for a different look than applying it after. Plugin order in the node tree affects the final image.

## What Resolve FX categories are available on the Color page?

| Category | Example plugins | Use case |
|---|---|---|
| Blurs | Gaussian Blur, Directional Blur, Radial Blur | Defocus, motion effects |
| Color Effects | Color Space Transform, Color Compressor | Look management, saturation control |
| Glows & Lens Flares | Glow, Lens Flare, Light Rays | Cinematic highlights |
| Vignettes | Vignette, Lens Distortion | Frame edge treatment |
| Refinement & Beauty | Face Refinement, Ultra Beauty, Blemish Removal | Portrait retouching |
| Image Restoration | Dust Bust, Patch Replacer, Sharpen | Cleanup and repair |
| Stylize | Film Look Creator, Halation, Split Tone | Creative looks |
| Texture | Add Grain, Fog, Mist | Atmosphere |
| Transformation | Resize, Crop, Flip | Format adjustments |
| Warpers | Warp, Ripple, Bulge | Distortion effects |

## How do you keyframe Resolve FX parameters on the Color page?

Select the node with the Resolve FX plugin applied. The inspector displays the plugin's parameters. Click the diamond keyframe button next to any parameter to enable animation. Move the playhead to a different frame, change the parameter value, and a new keyframe is created. The keyframe editor lets you adjust timing and interpolation curves.

Keyframing is useful for animating effect intensity over time. Fade a glow in during a dramatic moment, animate a vignette to darken at the end of a scene, or change the color of a light effect as the scene progresses.

## Third-party Open FX plugins on the Color page

The Open FX library also displays any third-party Open FX plugins installed on your system. They appear alongside the native Resolve FX plugins and work identically — drag onto a node, adjust parameters, and keyframe as needed. Third-party plugins expand the toolset with additional color grading, film emulation, and effects options tailored to specific workflows.
